Where and when are the church’s services?
We meet each Sunday at the church at 2371 Lititz Pike Lancaster PA
Sunday School begins at 8:45 a.m. and the Morning Worship starts at 10:00 a.m.
What should I wear?
At any given service you will find a range of clothing from casual to business. Please wear whatever clothes make you feel most comfortable. We care far more that you’re here than what clothing you wear.
How long are your services?
Services vary from 60 minutes to 75 minutes.
What are your services like?
Our services focus on worship and Biblical preaching. We share announcements at the beginning of the morning, sing, pray and and hear teaching about God’s Word.
Our music is a blend of traditional and contemporary. In each service you will usually find both contemporary songs, lead by one of our worship teams, and traditional hymns, led by one of our song leaders. Most Sundays will also include music from our organist on our pipe organ. Our bell choir plays about once a month.
Will I have to say anything, sign anything, or be singled out?
We have no wish to embarrass, single -out or put anyone on the spot. Though we do receive an offering, we don’t want anyone to feel obligated to give. We like to collect some basic information from people in our guest registry, but if you’d prefer not to, that’s fine as well.
Do I have to be “Mennonite” to attend Neffsville Mennonite Church?
No. Our members have come from a wide array of backgrounds. Some grew up in the Catholic church, Some were raised in other Protestant churches. Some grew up without a church and without any spiritual direction at all. We are far more concerned about where you are going than where you came from.
What about my children?
Two staff nurseries are available during the Sunday School hour and Morning Worship.
Parents are always welcome to attend and observe any of our children’s ministries.
What about Christian Education?
Sunday School classes are offered for all ages (Toddler through adult), during the 8:45 a.m. Service. Our Child Protection Policy enables children to be safe here.
We provide Biblical teaching for our youth (grades 6-12) addressing topics and issues relevant for our youth on Wednesday night and Sunday mornings. Our youth also have the opportunity to participate in missions trips, service projects and retreats.
Adult Sunday school classes offer in-depth exploration of Biblical truths and contemporary issues that affect your life.
Are there any other church related activities besides the Sunday service?
Absolutely! We have many different activities for all ages and interests. Our “Wednesday Night Out” is one of our biggest weekly events. It starts out with a great tasting dinner at the church. After dinner there are meetings of different groups and classes, including prayer groups, choir, boys and girls clubs, youth activities, etc.
Dinner is “pay as you can.”
* We have “Wednesday Night Out” from about September through April. It does not run over the summer.
Is the church handicap accessible?
Yes. The handicap accessible entrance is on the north side of the building at the car port. We offer hearing assistance devices, and an elevator provides access to all floors of the building.
What kind of church are you?
This congregation was founded over sixty years ago, but our roots go back almost 400 years (1625) to the Anabaptist stream of the Reformation. A young priest name Menno Simons (1496 – 1561) converted to the Anabaptist and became a leader of the movement. Later followers became known as the Mennonites.
The Mennonite Church is a peace church and we believe in adult baptisms. These two beliefs, although not necessarily unique to the Mennonite church, are somewhat different than many churches.
Most importantly, we believe that Neffsville Mennonite Church is a safe place for people who are looking for answers to their spiritual questions. It’s also a place where those who have decided to follow Jesus Christ can learn and be encouraged in their spiritual growth.
