We are Anabaptist Christians
Every faith community stresses certain things over others. We are no different. There are parts of what Jesus taught His disciples that we feel particularly passionate to pursue. Some of us because it is the faith tradition that we grew up in. Others of us because we find that an Anabaptist expression of the ministry of Jesus is the most authentic for us and the most consistent with the way the Early Church lived their lives under the Apostles leadership.
The four things that we stress most are:
- We balance inner faith and outward expressions of service. We feel that the experience of both are of equal importance for a disciple of Jesus Christ.
- We practice believer’s baptism, mutual aid and sharing, and accountability to the community.
- We emphasize an ethic of love and non-retaliation in all human relationships. We resolve conflict without violence.
- We seek to join with God in what God is doing in the world. We love our neighbor; even if they consider us their enemy.
