Release the feast is the theme for this year’s World Vision 30 Hour Famine. The famine is designed for youth groups to fast for 30 hours and raise money to feed children around the world. The MYF will be participating in this event on Friday February 28 and Saturday March 1. They will gather at the Journey 2415 House at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. There will times of devotions, games, service and hanging out. There will be water and juices available to keep everyone hydrated. We will break our fast as a group Saturday afternoon as we share a meal together.
Want to make our youth’s ‘starving for food’ beneficial? Indicate how many days you would like to feed a child on the paper on the foyer table. As little as $1.16 – that’s less than the cost of a cup of coffee – will feed a child for a day. A little over $35 – less than the cost of one tank of gas – will feed them for a month.
Please keep us in your prayers as we go hungry and see what God has in store for us. I am thinking we will be well fed as Jesus said in Matthew 4:4 “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'”
