JR. HIGH YOUTH MINISTRY (Grades 6-8)

JUNIOR HIGH YOUTH (grades 6, 7, and 8) meet in rooms 5, 7 & 9 Wednesday’s at 6:45 p.m. from September through May. Friends are always welcomed so join us for fellowship, learning and exploring your faith story.

Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. Psalm 24:6

Continuing the ministry of Jesus

We desire to seek after God and joining his story for each of us as we continue the ministry of Jesus.

Sunday Mornings
The Jr. High youth enjoy interactive Bible studies that are relevant and immediately applicable to their everyday lives. Our rotating three-year curriculum provides a strong biblical base of faith for our Jr. High Youth prior to entering the high school years. We meet from8:45 to 9:45 a.m. in the Jr. High room.

Wednesday Nights
From September through May, during our Wednesday Night Out, from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m., join us for a time of interactive learning through teaching, sharing, discussions, service and prayer.

Service Projects Retreats & Activities
Throughout the year, we participate in a variety of service projects, including GAIN, Friendship Community and our own Easter Eggstravaganza. Yearly retreats, Creation, mission trip to Washington DC and monthly activities keep our youth connected and energized!
 

Baptism/Membership Classes
Baptism classes are offered by the Youth Pastor for youth interested in baptism and exploring membership at NMC. We explore our own story of faith using the book God’s story, Our Story by Michelle Hershberger.

SR. HIGH YOUTH MINISTRY (Grades 9-12)

MYF (senior high) youth grades 9-12 meet in the Journey 2415 house Sunday mornings 8:45-9:45 am and Wednesday 7:00 – 8:30 pm. Friends are always welcomed so join us for fellowship, learning and exploring your faith story.

As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; Luke 24:15

Continuing the ministry of Jesus

As we journey with one another and Jesus we seek to join in God’s story for ourselves and therefore continue the ministry of Jesus.

Sunday Mornings
Join us for biblical teaching relevant to youth’s everyday life. Through sharing, praying, and studying the Bible, the youth build real relationships with each other, the adult leaders, and God. We meet from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. in the Journey 2415 house.

Wednesday Nights
We meet all year Wednesday night, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., join us for a time of interactive learning through teaching, sharing, discussions, service and prayer.

Service Projects, Retreats & Activities

Throughout the year, we participate in service project, including a week-long service project and attend the Mennonite Youth convention bi-annually. Yearly retreats and monthly “Pizza & Wings” activity keep our youth connected and energized!

Youth Mentor Program
Youth are invited to choose an adult from the congregation to be a mentor for them throughout their high school years. This adult builds a special connection to the youth, to encourage them spiritually and to walk beside them as a role model.
